Sabbatical 2006

I/we had the privilege of a sabbatical from January thru August of 2006. Our travels took us to South Africa, Australia, New Zealand, Namibia, Zambia and Botswana. Here are a few images now etched in memory.
South Africa: Owl house (Nieu-Bethesda); Cape L'Augulhas (Southern tip of Africa)
Joyful noise: I sang often, alone and with others
Australia: They are as cute as they look; Sydney, the weight of the cross, catching, Byron Bay (most eastern point of Australia)
New Zealand: Zorbing (yes, I'm in that inflated ball!); a koru--symbol of new beginnings, a silver leaf, sheep--of course!
Augrabies falls (Kakamas, South Africa)
Pilanesberg Game Reserve: eyes, elephants, and relatives
Leopard Creek Golf Estate (Malelane)
Namibia: Road signs in Africa, Sossusvlei (in the Namib desert), Desert golf course at Henties Bay, public transportation near Khorixas, Bushmen petroglyphs and drawings at Twyfelfontein
Etosha National Park: Leopard, lion, zebra, an angry trinity (in the Caprivi Strip)
Zambia: The Victoria Falls, white water, bird's eye view
